Got back from our Honeymoon in Hawaii
Hi! We just got back from our honeymoon in Hawaii. We flew out to Kaua’i on Friday, March 13 and arrived at Lihue at around lunchtime. We drove to the first B&B on the north shore just outside of Hanalei, where we stayed for the first four days. It was quite rainy during our stay there. We did the Kalalau trail on Saturday, then went kayaking on Sunday and capsized (Mike’s digital camera died during the incident), but we were fine otherwise. On Monday (Jessica’s birthday!) the weather got better so we walked to Ke’e beach and snorkeled, and then got a massage and had a nice birthday dinner (the waiters at the restaurant sang Jessica “happy birthday”). On Tuesday we drove down to Poipu and checked in to the rented house we got, which was a nice big house with a Japanese soaking tub. On Wednesday we rented snorkeling gear and also bought a disposable underwater camera, and went snorkeling at three different beaches, searching for sea turtles. On Thursday we went to do more snorkeling and also snuck into the pools of the Grant Hyatt hotel. On Friday we drove to Waimea Canyon and did a bit of the trail there. On Saturday returned to the Grant Hyatt pools, and in the afternoon we checked into our last hotel, the Kiauna Plantation. We took the boogieboard from the room and sat on the beach, enjoying the sun and ocassionally going into the water. We flew back on Sunday, March 22nd, and got back to San Francisco at around 10:30 PM.
